I had the pleasure of presenting a Masterclass at the Vancouver Film School Shanghai, focused on the fundamentals of shaders and how to setup more complex material effects like iridescence, vertex paint, screen-space distortion and so on.
The goal was to introduce art-oriented students to some technical knowledge about the shading pipeline and help develop an eye for shader creation for custom effects. The presentation goes over some of the shader technical fundamentals, including basic math concepts, and then presents seven different cases of practical application of the concepts discussed so far
