XCOM 2 assault rifle fanart. I started by following an amazing tutorial about game-ready modeling in Houdini from Richard Banks (https://www.udemy.com/game-asset-creation-with-houdini/) and I decided to use that as a base to produce a game-ready asset. Completely modeled and unwrapped in Houdini, the rifle itself is a digital assets which allows you to export both the HighPoly and the LowPoly version of the asset, as well as tuning the round subdivision amount and the bevel shape. The texturing was done in Substance Painter and I rendered it using Marmoset Toolbag 3. The rifle is 7.802 tris (magazine and viewfinder included), and I'm planning to add more props (other magazines, grenade launcher, torch and so on) in the future as an exercise.
